The finesse of a generous and fresh Pauillac
A vintage remarkable in many ways, 2018 will undoubtedly be included in the history of great years at the Grand Cru Classé Pauillac, located on the left bank of Bordeaux - Château Croizet-Bages.

The heavy rainfall of spring brought with it an exceptional pressure from mildew, made even worse by storms. The beautiful sunny and dry summer that arrived in July resulted in water stress for the vines. Despite all these challenges, the fruit was able to ripen beautifully and the harvest yielded fruit that foreshadowed a fantastic wine from early on.

A fantastic vintage, the Château Croizet-Bages 2018 can be compared to some other spectacular vintages, evoking the richness of the 2009 and the power of the 2016. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) and Merlot (50%), the Château Croizet -Bages 2018 reflects the identity of the great terroir of Pauillac.

At the tasting, the Château Croizet-Bages 2018 presents a dark purple colour. The intense and expressive nose opens with generous aromas of crushed red berries and cherries, evolving aromas of dried tobacco leaf. Mineral graphite notes of pencil lead contribute to the signature style of this Pauillac wine. Juicy, generous and powerful, the wine wraps the palate with its ample and full-bodied texture, structured by tannins with a beautiful grain. The finish is very persistent and fresh. A red grand vin from Pauillac promising a beautiful evolution over the years to come.
